ASA Nominations for 2012

The ASA Nominations Committee has announced the following nominations for open officer positions in 2012:

Joe Hutter, King Packaged Materials – President (1 year term)
Michael Cotter, Consultant – Vice President (1 year term)
Charles Hanskat, Concrete Engineering Group LLC – Secretary (1 year term)
Ted Sofis, Sofis Company Inc – Treasurer (1 year term)

Lihe (John) Zhang, LZhang Consulting and Testing Ltd – Director (3 year term)
Marcus Von der Hofen, Coastal Gunite – Director (3 year term)
Scott Rand, King Packaged Materials – Director (3 year term)

An electronic ballot will be sent to all ASA members in mid December to complete the election process.

Public Authority Membership Benefits Updated

ASA is now offering FREE membership to Public Authority or Agency employees! The ASA is firmly committed to the continuous improvement in the quality and consistency of concrete placed via the shotcrete method.We believe that a critical part of this effort includes an outreach to public agencies to offer an important collection of resources. Nozzlemen – Call for Topics (For Shotcrete magazine)

The “Nozzleman Knowledge”, “Technical Tips” and “Safety Shooter” welcome topic suggestions for these columns, especially from our nozzlemen readers.  These columns in particular are designed to serve our nozzlemen and bring helpful information not readily available in the industry.  If you would like to submit a topic or question for an article, please email to info@shotcrete.org or call 248/848-3780.  ASA staff and the Publications Committee will do our best to secure an author to address your concerns.

CJSI Industry Trends Report

ASA is a full partner in the Concrete industries’ Joint Sustainability Initiative (CJSI). In an effort to keep ASA Members up to date on the latest information regarding sustainability issues and their potential impact on the concrete/shotcrete industry, ASA includes the following link in the Member edition of this e-newsletter to the latest CJSI Industry Trends report.
