Vision 2020: A Vision for the Concrete Repair Industry Workshop Scheduled In the Chicago Area September 20 & 21, 2011
The Strategic Development Council’s (SDC) Vision 2020 team has been reviewing and working to update the goals of Vision 2020 with an eye to re-releasing an updated document which will serve to re-energize and re-focus the initiative.
This Vision 2020 workshop is the next step in this effort, and will be an exciting and important event to focus predominantly on two new goals added to the Vision 2020 – Branding & Promotion (Goal #14) and Sustainability (Goal #15). The first of two workshops will be held on Tuesday, September 20, 2011 in the Chicago area. The workshop will be held in conjunction with the Fall SDC #30 meeting on September 21 & 22, 2011. Additional workshop breakout sessions will be held during the SDC meeting.
ASA is one of the original sponsors of Vision 2020 and is a sponsor for this upcoming workshop.

Airplaco & Gunite Supply Open House for ASA Fall Meeting Attendees
Airplaco & Gunite Supply (divisions of Mesa Industries, Inc.) will host a Welcome Reception featuring BBQ food, open showroom, TV Sports entertainment and prize giveaways. The open house invite extends to anyone planning to attend the American Shotcrete Association (ASA) Fall Committee meetings. The welcome reception will be held at their northeast showroom and offices located at:

ASA is a full partner in the Concrete industries’ Joint Sustainability Initiative (CJSI). In an effort to keep ASA Members up to date on the latest information regarding sustainability issues and their potential impact on the concrete/shotcrete industry, ASA includes the following link in the Member edition of this e-newsletter to the latest CJSI Industry Trends report. The most recent edition of the Concrete JSI Industry Trends Report includes: EPA delays storm water rules, infrastructure bill still uncertain and MIT weighs the lifecycle impacts of concrete.
