This updated document deals primarily with construction practices related to slabs-on-ground but also presents useful information on concrete. The knowledge presented in CCS-1 can be used to train concrete craftsmen and is especially useful for those interested in earning credentials as ACI certified finishers. This edition adds material on placing with laser-guided screeds and finishing with walk-behind and riding power equipment. All of the chapters have been rewritten to focus primarily on the impact that concrete finishers can have on the quality of slabs-on-ground.

I’m up, a little sore after yesterdays fall, but it’s a beautiful sunny day here on Camano Island. I’m enjoying it a lot.
The Reed booth at World of Concrete (WOC) is easy to find, just look for the intertwined concrete pump booms overhead. I’ll be the old guy.
I’ve got my air, hotel and car rental for the World of Concrete in Vegas… $529 complete from Seattle. Come see me at the Reed booth.
