306R-88: Cold Weather Concreting (Reapproved 2002)
This document provides the general requirements for producing satisfactory concrete during cold weather and methods for satisfying these requirements. In particular, this document discusses recommended temperature of concrete, temperature records, temperature of materials, preparations prior to placement, duration of protection period, methods for determining in-place strength, form removal, protective insulating covers, heated enclosures, curing methods, and accelerating admixtures. References are included that provide supplementary data on the effects of curing temperature on concrete strength. Available in hard copy or PDF format.

Click here to view last year’s Outstanding Shotcrete Project Awardees ASA Fall 2009 Committee Meeting Schedule The ASA Fall 2009 Committee Meetings are open to all individuals (ASA members & non-members) and there is no registration fee. The ASA Fall 2009 Committee Meetings will be held at the Marriott New Orleans in New Orleans, LA, November 7 & 9, 2009. The ASA committee meetings are held in conjunction with the ACI Fall convention. Click here to access the committee meeting schedule Changes to the ACI Certified Personnel Directory ACI recently implemented changes to its Certified Personnel Directory in an attempt to limit the use of the tool by “head-hunter” type organizations. The directory still has full functionality for first pass verification of certified shotcrete nozzlemen using an individual’s ACI Certification ID number and\or last name. General searches without specific individual nozzleman criteria now return a list with no individual names. This change allows specifiers to confirm a pool of certified individuals before requiring certification, but prevents “head-hunters” from identifying and pursuing the certified individuals.
